extreme makeover: home edition

so they did a house just north of where we live and we volunteered to help. i got one of the blue shirts and a construction hat and worked for about 5 hours this past monday night. they didn’t let candace go to the site until about 3 hours after they let a group of men, including me, go. it was an interesting experience. i didn’t see any famous people that night, but candace actually got to go to the reveal on thursday, which was closed to the public, but they gave a couple of tickets to our church, since we helped get volunteers to sign up. candace took a bunch of pictures of the star ty pennington and the others in the cast and the whole “move that bus” ordeal.

i heard that it was supposed to air on march 4. i probably won’t be in any shots, but candace may since she was in the crowd at the reveal.

i switched part 2

so yeah, 20 inch widescreen iMac. the only stuff i added to the standard package was an extra gig of ram, wireless keyboard and mouse, and the apple care protection plan. i got it from the apple store in the lennox mall in buckhead. it was nice to just walk out of the store with my new computer instead of ordering it online and waiting for it to be shipped. i’m still getting used to the OS. i’ve been a PC user for over 12 years, so it’s a little weird.

one of the cool things about the computer is the fact that the power cord is the only cord. i moved the computer from our kitchen table to our extra room last night. took me like 2 minutes from the time i shut down to the time that i had it plugged in and turned on in the new room. nice. plus, it just looks really cool.
